Iron Man 2 is currently filming, so on-set shots of the cast in costumes and action should make their way onto the Internet in due time. Two have already surfaced, a shot of Robert Downey Jr. in half-costume eating lunch or some in-between-takes snack, and another of Samuel L. Jackson walking around set in his Nick Fury garb.
The money looks that I’m (like most people) are really waiting for, though, are Scarlett Johannson in what should be curve-exposing black leather as the Black Widow, and Mickey Rourke in whatever the hell his get-up will look like. It’s not even officially set in stone whether Rourke is playing Whiplash or Crimson Dynamo, or if his villain will be a combination of both. For now, though, we have this recently-uncovered concept art for Rourke’s character that may or may not be legit. The folks at LatinoReview.com were sent this, but they’ve been unable to confirm how real it is:
Clearly designed with a much-younger Mickey Rourke in mind, based on the sketched face. Looks cool enough, like a tricked-out Ghostbuster. Time will tell if this is bullshit or not…..
Iron Man 2 is set for a May 7, 2010 release. Plan a year ahead accordingly.
