On my way down to Atlantic City for the day/night, the plan being to film our own sequel to The Hangover. Tigers and babies named “Carlos” highly optional.
Before I head out, though, I felt the need to quickly celebrate the first image from the set of Christopher Nolan‘s extremely-secretive next film, Inception. Nolan, as I’d hope you all know, is the director responsible for such greatness as Memento, The Prestige, and those new Batman flicks that you sweat so much (making Inception his anticipated follow-up after The Dark Knight historic run). All that’s known about Inception is that Lenardo Dicaprio plays some sort of CEO, and ““a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.” Whatever that means, sounds very promising, nonetheless. Here’s a shot from the Tokyo set with Dicaprio, Nolan, and co-star Ken Watanabe (from Nolan’s Batman Begins, as well):
Initially, Inception was thought to be Nolan’s smaller-scale breather after The Dark Knight, but now word is out that its budget may be as tall as $200 million. “Small” my ass. I can care less about the budget, though—-Nolan has proven himself to be at the top of his class, so I have little doubt that Inception, scheduled for July 16, 2010 (again, “small my ass”…that’s prime blockbuster territory), will rock the shit. Just check out this insane cast:
